I can't keep away from blogs. But whatever, it's nice to have a place to write down my thoughts. It's quite therapeutic.
The new job is hard than I expected. Man, I had it easy at pathmark.
I didn't realize how much work
I have to do. Make the salads.
Make the soups. Toast the bread/bagels, even for sandwiches.
It sucks. I've been training for a total of 10 hours, yet, I've made nothing.
I come in, bust my ass, get yelled at for not doing enough sidework, yet, I'm not even on the clock until Friday.
I do all the work, I handle tables at a time BY MYSELF, and Jimmy, my "trainer" (ha) gets to rake in all of MY hard-earned tips.
At least people are being pleasant. And they're there to help me when I need help carrying out some trays.
The kitchen is probably my biggest gripe. It seems as though you have to speak fluent spanish to get anything accomplished.
"Can i get a plate of lettuce?"
"Que?"
"lettuce. le-ttuce... uh, de salade, uh... le-ttuce"
"uh, que?"
"uh, lechuga? verde?"
"Oh, leCHUGA!"
"uh, si"
Guess I'll have to work on that.
Everytime I go in there, I hear them all talking about me, in spanish.
I hear my name a bunch of times, and then some laughter.
So on my break I sat down with jimmy & melissa and said "I should really learn spanish so I can communicate with them and understand what they're saying about me/ to me"
"Trust me, you don't want to know. it's all dirty."
"haha"
"seriously, they're saying "take off your clothes, I want to fuck you"
"hahaha"
"no, I'm totally serious. I'm dead serious. that's exactly what they're saying. don't talk to them. perverts"
Lovely. Hopefully my experiences will be a bit more pleasant.
Anyway. On Sunday I went to the castle park with amanda & dave.
We blew bubbles and took 547359 pictures and played in the sunshine.
I can't believe they're knocking it down. It's like, my childhood.
I hope I get to go back before the demolition day.
I'll upload some pictures later.
