You know something is wrong at work when...

you've only been there for a month, and you get scolded daily for making mistakes, yet, are asked to TRAIN a new employee yesterday.

That's right. I had to train someone yesterday.

And Cristina, who's been there for TWO DAYS had to train someone.

Lovely. Awesome.

Since I'm nice, I let her keep tips off 2 tables. Which I regret doing.

I didn't get tipped when I trained, despite how much work I did.

And I really needed that money. I walked out of there with 17 bucks last night.

And she didn't tip the busboys. So i got crap for that.

VA BEACH!

it was awesome

I miss it already

I'll post those pictures tomorrow.

Here are some of the photographs I'm considering posting in the Art show.

ode to castle park

yesterday me erin dave mike & I went out to sunset for some brunch.
We're driving home and I see Shake-a-paw and yell out PUPPPIES!
So we made a few illegal turns and pulled into the parking lot.
The puppies were so sad.
It depressed me.
Mike & I played with a little boston terrier pup.
he was only 3 months old.
We named him Spanky.
He was the cutest puppy EVER.
I hated saying goodbye to him.
It was depressing. When dave uploads the pictures I'll put them here.

Then we went to Castle Park.
I'm not sure when it's going to torn down.
I hope not anytime soon.

We slid down the slides and crawled through the tunnels.
and took lots of pictures. i'll upload them when I feel like editing them.
a bunch of little kids thought it was hilarious to beat up my boyfriend.
they knocked him off the monkey bars, kicked him in the stomach, and jumped ontop of him.
All the while, the parents just stood there.
if your kid is punching someone, shouldn't you do something about it? sheesh.

work was ok. I made 60 bucks. and the busboys are all total sweeties.
and most of the waitresses were really nice & patient. I just have to avoid Louey and Nick.
one of the waitresses found a new job waitressing somewhere else. She told me I should come too.
So I'll stay for another month so i can put it down as a reference, but after that, I'm gone.
The whole place is totally corrupt anyway. Maybe I'll just go back to pathmark. I just can't afford to though :(

pictures to come!

A new space

I can't keep away from blogs. But whatever, it's nice to have a place to write down my thoughts. It's quite therapeutic.

The new job is hard than I expected. Man, I had it easy at pathmark.
I didn't realize how much work I have to do. Make the salads.
Make the soups. Toast the bread/bagels, even for sandwiches.
It sucks. I've been training for a total of 10 hours, yet, I've made nothing.
I come in, bust my ass, get yelled at for not doing enough sidework, yet, I'm not even on the clock until Friday.
I do all the work, I handle tables at a time BY MYSELF, and Jimmy, my "trainer" (ha) gets to rake in all of MY hard-earned tips.

At least people are being pleasant. And they're there to help me when I need help carrying out some trays.

The kitchen is probably my biggest gripe. It seems as though you have to speak fluent spanish to get anything accomplished.
"Can i get a plate of lettuce?"
"Que?"
"lettuce. le-ttuce... uh, de salade, uh... le-ttuce"
"uh, que?"
"uh, lechuga? verde?"
"Oh, leCHUGA!"
"uh, si"

Guess I'll have to work on that.
Everytime I go in there, I hear them all talking about me, in spanish.
I hear my name a bunch of times, and then some laughter.

So on my break I sat down with jimmy & melissa and said "I should really learn spanish so I can communicate with them and understand what they're saying about me/ to me"
"Trust me, you don't want to know. it's all dirty."
"haha"
"seriously, they're saying "take off your clothes, I want to fuck you"
"hahaha"
"no, I'm totally serious. I'm dead serious. that's exactly what they're saying. don't talk to them. perverts"

Lovely. Hopefully my experiences will be a bit more pleasant.

Anyway. On Sunday I went to the castle park with amanda & dave.
We blew bubbles and took 547359 pictures and played in the sunshine.
I can't believe they're knocking it down. It's like, my childhood.
I hope I get to go back before the demolition day.
I'll upload some pictures later.
